The Compact Series of sit-stand desktop workstations are modern, and easy to use. They are ideal for corner cubicles or limited space. They provide the same sturdy desktop in a slimmed-down design. The keyboard tray allows for negative tilting, keeping your wrists in a neutral position. These workstations are cost-effective, ergonomic solutions that turn your desk into a sit-stand workspace with ease.

  • Easy and fluid adjustment: the advanced gas-spring hovering system allows you to raise or lower the platform with the touch of a lever.
  • More ergonomic design: the keyboard tray drops down in front of the desk and rests flush against the surface so that you don’t need to raise your chair to an uncomfortably high in the seated position. The keyboard tray allows for negative tilting, keeping your wrists in a neutral position.
  • Small footprint but maximum stability: the compact design lets you make the most out of your desk area, but without taking up too much desktop space. Anti-slip rubber sheets are designed to protect the desk surface and provide slip-resistance.
  • One-step assembly: the compact series desktop workstation comes pre-assembled. All you have to do is attach the keyboard tray. Remove the keyboard tray easily when you need your desk for reading or writing.
  • Compatible with ergonomic monitor mounts (available as an additional extra).

In my job as a tour operator, I spend most of the day sitting in front of a computer. While I’ve long been aware of the possible negative effects on health, I put off doing something about it until my back and shoulders started giving me major problems. Massages and chiropractic treatment helped to an extent, but can only do so much when the core issues (sitting the whole day in a chair that doesn’t offer the correct support for your body type, peering at a badly positioned screen) are not resolved.

I first tried out the F7 monitor arm (https://www.ergonomicsdirect.co.za/laptop-and-monitor-stands/monitor-stands-and-monitor-arms/flexispot-f7-single-monitor-mount) and the Net1 chair https://www.ergonomicsdirect.co.za/ergonomic-chairs/chairs/netone-high-back) both of which which helped me get into a better position at my desk.

I then tried out the F3B sit-stand desk “on appro”, not expecting to like it at all, but was very surprised. In conjunction with the monitor arm and chair (and guidance from Sean), I was finally able to get into the correct position when seated at my computer. In addition, the ability to move the desk into a standing position definitely encourages you to take regular breaks from “over-sitting”; I actually now spend more of my day standing than sitting.

It’s not an inexpensive purchase but is well made and will last decades; more importantly it’s saving me a small fortune in medical bills.
